How to shorten bug reporting from 10-15 minutes to under a minute

Under a minute. That's how long it takes to file a bug with Voice2Bug. You say what happened, take a screenshot, hit send. Done.

In this article, I'll walk you through exactly how it works — step by step.

Step 1: Find the bug (0 seconds)

You're doing this already. You're testing the application, something breaks. Instead of opening Jira and starting to type — you click the Voice2Bug extension icon in your browser.

Pro tip: The shortcut Opt+Z (Mac) / Alt+Z (Windows) opens the Voice2Bug panel. While recording, it also activates screenshot mode.

Step 2: Record what happened (15-20 seconds)

Talk the way you'd describe it to a colleague at the coffee machine:

"OK, I'm on the product page, I click 'Add to Cart', but the button doesn't activate. I refreshed the page, same thing. Looks like the JavaScript isn't firing on this element."

That's it. You don't have to think about formatting, structure, or "how to write this properly." Just talk.

Step 3: Take a screenshot (5-10 seconds)

Click the screenshot button, select the area. The screenshot is automatically attached to the report — no need to save it anywhere or upload it separately.

You can take multiple screenshots if the bug requires showing several screens.

Step 4: Click "Generate report" (10-15 seconds)

AI processes your recording and generates:

  • Title — concise, clear
  • Description — what happened, what you expected
  • Steps to reproduce — numbered list
  • Technical data — URL, browser, screen resolution, timestamp
  • Attachments — screenshots matched to the relevant sections

Step 5: Review and send to Jira (10-15 seconds)

Review the generated report — you can edit it if you want to add detail. Then one click. The ticket lands in Jira — formatted, with attachments, ready to work on.

You can also copy the report to your clipboard or share it via link (useful when working with a client who doesn't have access to your Jira).

Summary: under a minute

Step Time
Click the extension 2 sec
Voice recording 15-20 sec
Screenshot 5-10 sec
Report generation 10-15 sec
Review and send to Jira 10-15 sec
TOTAL under a minute

Actual time may vary depending on bug complexity and QA process maturity.

Compare that to 10-15 minutes of manual typing. That's over 10x faster. Want to see how much that means for your team's bottom line? Check the ROI math breakdown. Or if you're wondering whether your current process has problems, read 5 signs your bug reporting process is broken.
